Nothing says summer like freshly picked fruits and vegetables, beautiful flowers and plants and open markets.

Sumner County has a lot of options when it comes to farmers markets, and the best part is, they’re all opening soon.

Gallatin

The Gallatin Farmers Market’s opening day is April 13. The market will run through Oct. 26.

Vendors will include: Dobson Farms LLC, Happy Bee Apiary, Lucky J Farm, Natureworks TN, WadeFarmz, 12 Corners Nursery LLC, Cultivating Life Microgreens, Jus’Jerky, Petite Perle, Scent of the Sun Soaps, Southern Glow Candle Company, Two Daughter’s Custom Vinyl & Woodcrafts. Occasional vendors include baked goods from Amanda Breece and Blessed Day Coffee Roasters 

When: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays through October.

Portland

The Portland Farmers Market opens Thursday, May 23. The evening market is the perfect way to shop for dinner on the way home from work or enjoy the cooler air with the family.

Vendors will include: Family Traditions Farm, Wadez Farm, Nature Works, Cottontown Farms, Cedar Grove Farms, Vogle Farms, Rickert Honey Farm, J’s Meats and More, Byrd’s Berkshire Farm, Laurel Mountain Farm, Oakgrove Farm, Chill Out Shaved Ice, Big Poppa Kettle Korn.

When: 3:30-7 p.m. Thursdays through August

Hendersonville

Hendersonville Farmers Market opens for the season May 18.

A new plaza is coming to The Streets of Indian Lake, just in time for the market. A grand reveal is scheduled for Thursday, June 13.

Vendors will include: Hendersonville Produce, Family Traditions Farm, Hill Family Farm, Laurel Mountain Farm, Sacred Heart Farms, Cottontown Farm, Scent of the Sun, Hale’s Smoked Hickory Syrup, Sewing Dreams & Lullabies

When: 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 14; last Saturday of each month through August is Celebrate Family Health & Fitness Day with demonstrations, exhibits, local safety heroes, vendors, food trucks, live music and kids entertainment.

Goodlettsville

The Goodlettsville Farmers Market opens for the season Thursday, May 2. There will not be a market on July 4. Spend an afternoon or evening shopping for fresh produce and other goods.

Vendors will include: (Tentative): Alligator Dreams, Blocker Farms, Boomerangs Australian Coffee, Brookie’s Cookies, C&S Produce, Circle R Farm, Hancock Family Farm, Hill Family Farm, Hot Mama Soap, Inglewood Old Time String Band, Kona Ice, Lucas Hill Bakery, My Pooch’s Pantry, Pearson Farms, Scent of the Sun, The Little Flower Farm

When: 3-7 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 11

Where: Lawn next to the Visitor’s Center at Historic Mansker’s Station, 705 Caldwell Drive in Goodlettsville
