Ag Groups Beg Trump Admin for 'Stability' Amid EU Trade War

Law360 (November 18, 2020, 9:58 PM EST) — A coalition of agriculture groups urged the U.S. trade representative on Wednesday to reduce trade tensions with the European Union, saying that the coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated an underlying tariff war.

“Farmers are battling to stay above water and any new tariff in this time of crisis is a big concern,” Brian Kuehl, co-executive director of Farmers for Free Trade, said in a statement. “We know these tariffs are part of a long legal battle but anytime farmers become collateral damage it is unacceptable. American farmers need stability and that means predictable exports into markets like the EU.”
