Dow jumps nearly 125 points on gains in Chevron, Apple Inc. shares

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Friday morning with shares of Chevron and Apple Inc. seeing positive gains for the index. The Dow DJIA, +0.97% was most recently trading 122 points, or 0.4%, higher, as shares of Chevron CVX, +8.90% and Apple Inc. AAPL, +3.28% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. Chevron’s shares are up $9.75, or 6.5%, while those of Apple Inc. have risen $5.16, or 3.3%, combining for an approximately 98-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Caterpillar CAT, +5.54%, Goldman Sachs GS, +1.30%, and Travelers TRV, +1.90%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
