Dow's 275-point drop led by losses for shares of Dow Inc., Chevron

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading down Wednesday morning with shares of Dow Inc. and Chevron seeing the biggest drops for the price-weighted average. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -5.13% and Chevron CVX, -3.28% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, +0.17% was most recently trading 275 points (0.9%) lower. Dow Inc.’s shares have fallen $3.09 (5.6%) while those of Chevron are down $7.50, or 4.9%, combining for a roughly 70-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Nike NKE, -2.24%, Caterpillar CAT, -2.60%, and Honeywell International Inc. HON, -0.97%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
