American Express, Salesforce Inc. share gains lead Dow's nearly 175-point climb

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Friday morning with shares of American Express and Salesforce Inc. leading the way for the price-weighted average. The Dow DJIA, +0.61% was most recently trading 172 points higher (0.6%), as shares of American Express AXP, +2.32% and Salesforce Inc. CRM, +2.71% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally. American Express’s shares are up $2.46, or 1.8%, while those of Salesforce Inc. are up $2.61 (1.6%), combining for an approximately 33-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Walgreens Boots WBA, +2.07%, Apple Inc. AAPL, +1.64%, and Caterpillar CAT, +0.84%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
