American Express, Boeing share gains lead Dow's 34-point climb

Shares of American Express and Boeing are seeing positive gains Friday afternoon, lifting the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. Shares of American Express AXP, +5.09% and Boeing BA, +2.99% are contributing about a quarter of the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.05% was most recently trading 34 points (0.1%) higher. American Express’s shares have climbed $6.57, or 4.8%, while those of Boeing are up $4.28, or 3.2%, combining for a roughly 72-point bump for the Dow. Salesforce Inc. CRM, +2.32%, Amgen Inc. AMGN, +1.88%, and Microsoft MSFT, +1.43% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
