Jets trade up with Giants, draft running back Breece Hall in second round

Following up a whirlwind Round 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Jets kicked off Round 2 on Friday night by trading spots with the Giants–who then traded their pick to the Falcons–and used the move to bolster their offense.

With the 36th overall pick, the Jets, who moved up from 38th, selected Iowa State running back Breece Hall.

Hall led the nation in rushing during his sophomore season and was the first unanimous All-American in Cyclones history. He finished in the top-10 in Heisman voting in both his sophomore and junior seasons.

During his time with Iowa State, Hall set an FBS record with a rushing touchdown in 24 consecutive games and was the school’s all-time leading scorer.

During Day 1 of the draft, the Jets selected Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner with the fourth overall pick, Garrett Wilson with the 10th selection and Jermaine Johnson with the 26th pick.

They will wrap Friday up with the 101st pick. During the final day of the draft, The Jets will have the 111th, 117th and 146th selections.
