Palm Beach Gardens softball coach Randy Jackson reached a significant personal milestone this week, one that is a testament to both his longevity and success.

Jackson recorded the 500th win of his career on Tuesday night by leading the Gators to a 5-3 home victory over Doral. Palm Beach Gardens principal Don Hoffman took to Twitter to acknowledge the accomplishment, congratulating Jackson in a message that was accompanied by a post-game photo of the coach smiling alongside the team.

Jackson, a four-time state champion with Palm Beach Gardens, has been at the helm of the school’s softball program since 2003. He helped guide the Gators to back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006 and then won two consecutive trophies again in 2010 and 2011. Jackson, who has coached softball for 22 years, spent three seasons at Cardinal Newman prior to joining Palm Beach Gardens.

The Gators, who followed up Tuesday’s notable win with a 4-3 loss to Treasure Coast on Wednesday, have compiled a 13-10 record this season. They will start their playoff push on May 3 against an opponent that is still to be determined.
