Johnson & Johnson, American Express share gains contribute to Dow's 50-point climb

Shares of Johnson & Johnson and American Express are seeing positive growth Monday afternoon, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. The Dow DJIA, +0.70% was most recently trading 50 points higher (0.2%), as shares of Johnson & Johnson JNJ, +2.46% and American Express AXP, +1.97% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally. Johnson & Johnson’s shares are up $3.77, or 2.1%, while those of American Express are up $2.61 (1.5%), combining for an approximately 42-point boost for the Dow. Microsoft MSFT, +2.44%, Home Depot HD, +1.61%, and Salesforce Inc. CRM, +1.83% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
