In need of a snowblower? You've got options in Eastern Connecticut

Wintry weather and shoveling out a driveway. Name a less fun combination.

If you’re all out of kids to shovel it for you and don’t want to throw your back out, you might be looking for a snowblower. They’re easy to use, run on gas or electricity, and will certainly get your neighbors knocking to ask if they can borrow it.

Luckily, there are more than a few options to pick one up for yourself in Eastern Connecticut. Towns like Norwich, Killingly, Griswold and Plainfield all have hardware stores and other retailers carrying a mix of different snowblowers depending on your needs.

Already own a snowblower, but it broke down? There are even a few places that offer repairs.

Where can you get a snowblower in Norwich?

Norwich has a pair of spots you can swing by for a snowblower. Ace Hardware at 146 W Town St. is one of them.

A sales associate said the store as “a couple” in stock as of mid-February, and that it’s best to buy when there’s a lull in weather to avoid missing out.

Superior Products on 251 W Thames Street carries plenty of snowblowers as well. They sell both electric and gas, and keep a few out on the store floor with more ready to order if needed. They also rent out snowblowers for people who aren’t looking to purchase one.

Along with sales, Superior Products offers repair services.

Folks in Killingly have an easy spot to pick up a snowblower: Lowe’s on 1150 Killingly Commons Drive. You can find sizes from 18″ all the way up to 36″. They even have a snowblower the size of a weed whacker! Shop for gas or electric and sized for your needs.

Putnam’s snowblower stop is Tractor Supply Co. on 97 Providence Pike. While they’re out of snowblowers at the moment, they’re always ordering more in for the winter season. Give them a call at 860-963-7914 to check on their supply.


Located at 461 Voluntown Road, Tractor Supply Co. has a few different choices for snowblowers. They offer one, two, and three-stage options, with online purchasing as well.

There’s also a Lowe’s just a town away in Lisbon on 155 River Road. They have the same sort of selection as in Norwich, with a wide array of sizes and choices for your snowblowing needs.

If you’re looking to buy or repair a snowblower, K & H Equipment Sales on 1221 Norwich Road in Plainfield is a great choice. Their experts can help recommend the right snowblower for your needs, or repair the one you’ve dug out of the shed.

D H Marvin & Son Inc. on 359 S Main St. is a great spot to buy a snowblower or repair one you have. For new buyers, you’ve got more than a few choices to choose from. They carry the Ariens line when they have them in, and have snowblower attachments for John Deere tractors as well for your heavy duty needs.

They also offer repairs for customers who might have a problem with their snowblowers.

Hope Ace Hardware on 212 Old Hartford Road has snowblowers to order, too. You can swing by and place an order, and they’ll let you know when it arrives.
