IBM, UnitedHealth share losses contribute to Dow's 100-point drop

Dragged down by negative returns for shares of IBM and UnitedHealth, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down Thursday morning. Shares of IBM IBM, -3.21% and UnitedHealth UNH, -1.53% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.27% was most recently trading 103 points lower (-0.3%). IBM’s shares have fallen $3.01 (2.2%) while those of UnitedHealth have fallen $9.93, or 2.0%, combining for a roughly 85-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Boeing BA, -0.68%, Merck MRK, -0.11%, and Goldman Sachs GS, -1.96%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.59-point swing.
