Dow falls nearly 50 points on losses in shares of Home Depot, Nike

Shares of Home Depot and Nike are seeing declines Monday morning, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of Home Depot HD, -2.50% and Nike NKE, -1.81% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, +0.10% was most recently trading 49 points lower (-0.1%). Home Depot’s shares have declined $10.55 (2.5%) while those of Nike are down $3.23 (1.9%), combining for a roughly 91-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Procter & Gamble PG, -1.47%, UnitedHealth UNH, -1.43%, and Microsoft MSFT, -1.22%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
