Boeing, Chevron share losses contribute to Dow's 275-point drop

Dragged down by losses for shares of Boeing and Chevron, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Friday afternoon. The Dow DJIA, -0.75% was most recently trading 275 points, or 0.8%, lower, as shares of Boeing BA, -5.77% and Chevron CVX, -2.22% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Boeing’s shares are off $12.55 (5.5%) while those of Chevron have declined $3.00 (2.6%), combining for an approximately 102-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Merck MRK, -2.83%, UnitedHealth UNH, -2.11%, and Dow Inc. DOW, -1.10%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
