Dow's 325-point drop led by losses for shares of Dow Inc., Cisco

Shares of Dow Inc. and Cisco are seeing declines Wednesday afternoon, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -3.60% and Cisco CSCO, -2.45% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.35% was most recently trading 326 points lower (-0.9%). Dow Inc.’s shares have dropped $2.34 (4.0%) while those of Cisco are off $1.67 (3.0%), combining for a roughly 26-point drag on the Dow. American Express AXP, -1.57%, Chevron CVX, -1.11%, and Merck MRK, -1.35% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.58-point swing.
