Dow Inc., Cisco share losses contribute to Dow's 50-point drop

Behind losses for shares of Dow Inc. and Cisco, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Wednesday afternoon. Shares of Dow Inc. DOW, -3.32% and Cisco CSCO, -1.61% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, +0.05% was most recently trading 53 points lower (-0.2%). Dow Inc.’s shares are off $1.98 (3.4%) while those of Cisco have fallen $1.18 (2.2%), combining for a roughly 21-point drag on the Dow. Merck MRK, -1.23%, American Express AXP, -0.86%, and Walgreens Boots WBA, -0.84% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
