Dow's 150-point jump highlighted by gains in shares of Boeing, Merck

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Wednesday afternoon with shares of Boeing and Merck leading the way for the price-weighted average. Shares of Boeing BA, +3.20% and Merck MRK, +2.73% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.28% was most recently trading 150 points higher (0.4%). Boeing’s shares have climbed $7.59 (3.5%) while those of Merck are up $2.10 (2.9%), combining for an approximately 64-point bump for the Dow. Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.33%, Amgen Inc. AMGN, +1.17%, and IBM IBM, +1.25% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
