Boeing, Apple Inc. share gains lead Dow's 159-point jump

Powered by strong returns for shares of Boeing and Apple Inc., the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Wednesday morning. The Dow DJIA, +0.47% was most recently trading 159 points higher (0.5%), as shares of Boeing BA, +4.46% and Apple Inc. AAPL, +1.45% have contributed around a quarter of the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Boeing’s shares have risen $9.51, or 4.4%, while those of Apple Inc. have risen $2.29, or 1.6%, combining for a roughly 78-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Nike NKE, +1.27%, Visa V, +1.12%, and Merck MRK, +0.83%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
