Dow Inc., Chevron share gains lead Dow's 125-point jump

Led by strong returns for shares of Dow Inc. and Chevron, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday morning. The Dow DJIA, +0.34% is trading 124 points, or 0.4%, higher, as shares of Dow Inc. DOW, +4.53% and Chevron CVX, +2.63% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Dow Inc.’s shares are up $2.39 (4.2%) while those of Chevron have risen $2.62 (2.6%), combining for an approximately 33-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Caterpillar CAT, +2.19%, Boeing BA, +2.24%, and Goldman Sachs GS, +2.14%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.58-point swing.
