Inc., American Express share gains contribute to Dow's 511-point rally

Shares of Inc. and American Express are posting strong returns Thursday afternoon, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average rally. The Dow DJIA, +1.48% is trading 511 points, or 1.5%, higher, as shares of Inc. CRM, +7.17% and American Express AXP, +3.61% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally. Inc.’s shares have risen $18.58 (7.2%) while those of American Express have gained $5.92, or 3.5%, combining for an approximately 161-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are JPMorgan Chase JPM, +3.37%, Caterpillar CAT, +2.75%, and Visa V, +2.59%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
