Dow's 287-point jump led by gains in shares of Walt Disney, Home Depot

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Tuesday morning with shares of Walt Disney and Home Depot leading the way for the price-weighted average. The Dow DJIA, +0.70% was most recently trading 287 points higher (0.9%), as shares of Walt Disney DIS, +1.56% and Home Depot HD, +1.26% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Walt Disney’s shares have gained $3.46, or 1.9%, while those of Home Depot have risen $5.27 (1.6%), combining for an approximately 57-point bump for the Dow. Salesforce.com Inc. CRM, +1.18%, Coca-Cola KO, +1.15%, and McDonald’s MCD, +1.16% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
