Dow's 609-point fall led by losses in shares of Caterpillar, Goldman Sachs

Dragged down by negative returns for shares of Caterpillar and Goldman Sachs, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is in a selloff Monday morning. The Dow DJIA, -1.73% was most recently trading 609 points, or 1.8%, lower, as shares of Caterpillar CAT, -4.74% and Goldman Sachs GS, -4.04% are contributing to the index’s intraday decline. Caterpillar’s shares are down $9.52, or 4.8%, while those of Goldman Sachs have fallen $15.86, or 4.1%, combining for a roughly 167-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are JPMorgan Chase JPM, -3.23%, American Express AXP, -3.08%, and Travelers TRV, -2.94%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
