Dow's 88-point jump led by gains in shares of Nike, American Express

Shares of Nike and American Express are trading higher Thursday morning, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. Shares of Nike NKE, +2.01% and American Express AXP, +1.88% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.02% is trading 88 points higher (0.3%). Nike’s shares are up $4.53 (2.8%) while those of American Express are up $1.89 (1.2%), combining for an approximately 42-point bump for the Dow. Boeing BA, +1.73%, JPMorgan Chase JPM, +0.86%, and Walt Disney DIS, +0.66% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
