Dow's 100-point drop led by losses in Amgen Inc., Johnson & Johnson shares

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Thursday afternoon with shares of Amgen Inc. and Johnson & Johnson facing the biggest declines for the index. The Dow DJIA, -0.34% was most recently trading 107 points (0.3%) lower, as shares of Amgen Inc. AMGN, -2.22% and Johnson & Johnson JNJ, -1.84% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. Amgen Inc.’s shares are down $4.68 (2.1%) while those of Johnson & Johnson are off $2.94, or 1.7%, combining for an approximately 50-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Merck MRK, -2.03%, 3M MMM, -1.30%, and Walgreens Boots WBA, -1.09%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
