3M, Amgen Inc. share losses lead Dow's 211-point fall

Shares of 3M and Amgen Inc. are trading lower Tuesday afternoon, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of 3M MMM, -3.61% and Amgen Inc. AMGN, -2.44% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.59% was most recently trading 211 points, or 0.6%, lower. 3M’s shares have declined $7.18, or 3.7%, while those of Amgen Inc. are off $5.49, or 2.4%, combining for a roughly 83-point drag on the Dow. Boeing BA, -2.00%, Merck MRK, -1.99%, and Honeywell International Inc. HON, -1.93% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
