Boeing, American Express share losses contribute to Dow's nearly 825-point drop

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is slumping Monday afternoon with shares of Boeing and American Express facing the biggest losses for the blue-chip average. The Dow DJIA, -2.24% was most recently trading 820 points (2.4%) lower, as shares of Boeing BA, -5.11% and American Express AXP, -4.43% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. Boeing’s shares are off $11.07, or 5.1%, while those of American Express are off $7.64, or 4.5%, combining for an approximately 123-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Dow Inc. DOW, -3.88%, Honeywell International Inc. HON, -4.42%, and JPMorgan Chase JPM, -3.29%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
