Time for a quick roundup of injury news regarding former (and possibly future) New York Yankees players:

Didi Gregorius’s Todd Zolecki tweeted Wednesday that Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius began rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. According to MLB Trade Rumors, “Gregorius has been out for almost a month with a right hip impingement, having not taken the field since May 12.”

Gregorius returned to the Phillies this season on a two-year, $28 million contract.

Trevor Story

The Colorado Rockies might activate shortstop Trevor Story from the injured list on Thursday, according to The Athletic’s Nick Groke. Story landed on the injured list last month after tweaking his elbow making a throw in a doubleheader vs. the New York Mets. But the Denver Post’s Kyle Newman reported Story’s “MRI came back clean … meaning the Rockies don’t have to worry about any ligament or structural damage to the right throwing elbow.”

The Rockies are expected to trade Story, who will be a free agent after the season.

Sonny Gray

Rotoworld reports the Cincinnati Reds placed right-hander Sonny Gray on the injured list with right groin strain. According to Rotowold, Gray felt discomfort Tuesday while warming up before the top of the fourth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers. He had been rolling up to that point, with five strikeouts in three shutout innings.
