NFL Draft tracker 2021: Latest Patriots rumors, analysis

With the 2021 NFL Draft finally here, each team will enter the first round with their sights set on shaping their franchise’s future. They have wrapped up their prospect evaluations and have a plan set for this week’s seven-round draft.

Some top prospects are in attendance at this year’s event in Cleveland, while others — such as Trevor Lawrence — will be, like you, tuning in from home. Lawrence is set to be called at No. 1 overall, and the first four prospects off the board will likely be quarterbacks. With talented QB choices, a deep pool of wide receivers and prospects from every position, the 2021 NFL Draft has plenty of names for your team to choose from when they’re on the clock.

Which position the New England Patriots plan to address with the No. 15 pick in the 2021 draft remains a mystery after Bill Belichick went on something of a spending spree in free agency to fill various needs. There’s a chance the Pats trade up in the first round to grab a potential franchise quarterback.

Will the Patriots trade up to draft their QB of the future?

There have been lots of rumors this week about the Patriots trading up their No.15 pick to draft their quarterback of the future.

The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reported on Wednesday that New England has been in talks with the Atlanta Falcons to trade up to No. 4 — where they would be able to draft one of the top quarterbacks.

It’s not clear what Bill Belichick and Co. have in mind, but if they see in Justin Fields — or in any other of the top prospects — their future quarterback, they might be willing to make expensive decisions to move up. Like including in the deal former All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore instead of giving up an extra-first round pick.
