Amgen Inc., Microsoft share losses contribute to Dow's 112-point fall

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Wednesday morning with shares of Amgen Inc. and Microsoft delivering the stiffest headwinds for the blue-chip average. Shares of Amgen Inc. AMGN, -7.55% and Microsoft MSFT, -2.95% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.40% was most recently trading 112 points, or 0.3%, lower. Amgen Inc.’s shares are down $16.78 (6.6%) while those of Microsoft have fallen $8.03 (3.1%), combining for an approximately 163-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Boeing BA, -3.69%, Nike NKE, -0.87%, and Walt Disney DIS, -0.56%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
