Goldman Sachs, Caterpillar share gains contribute to Dow's 109-point climb

Shares of Goldman Sachs and Caterpillar are posting positive growth Wednesday morning, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory. Shares of Goldman Sachs GS, +3.25% and Caterpillar CAT, +1.54% are contributing about 25% of the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.50% was most recently trading 109 points higher (0.3%). Goldman Sachs’s shares have climbed $8.27, or 2.5%, while those of Caterpillar have climbed $3.29 (1.4%), combining for a roughly 76-point boost for the Dow. Walt Disney DIS, +1.58%, Boeing BA, +1.23%, and American Express AXP, +1.62% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
